My name is Victoria Lindsell, I’m 66 and have lived in Warwickshire for the last 36 years. I was due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court today for failing to turn up at a hearing for breaking the injunction that surrounds the Kingsbury Oil Terminal. Imprisonment is not so bad although it’s a ludicrous situation that I’m locked up for peacefully protesting an injunction designed to protect the fossil fuel industry whose time should now be over. A justice system that allows this in the context of a climate and ecological emergency is not fit for purpose – and therefore I will not comply with it.
